Default MASSIVELY HIGH INTAKE TEMPERATURES

Recently noticed extremely high intake temperatures. I havent taken a reading yet, but putting my hand on the charge cooler for just a few seconds is too much. Burning hot. Something that always concerned me was the noise from the V2 charger that sounds like a busted bearing. Some tell me its normal others are adamant that its a faulty bearing. Is that sound normal or is my charger on its way out?

Checked the charger cooler pump and thats working fine - no leaks either.
my boost is down by 0.1 and a power run shows a drop in 30whp. I take it that this is resultant of the hotter air and slight drop in boost.

To give you guys a better understanding, the following is what I did a few weeks prior to this current problem.

Pulley upgrade - 0.9 bar
RC 440 Injectors - I dont have a stand alone ECU so I'm still utilising the 5th injector
Changed my oil to Royal Purple 10w 40
Compression dropped to 10:1

I had no problems with the car for several weeks after the mods, but just suddenly....

What are the possible causes for my probs?
Thanks guys

Sounds like a failed bearing or a boost leak

It sounds to me like you need to dig into it and check out a few things.

Has the supercharger noise increase recently other than the increase from the smaller pulley spinning it faster?
Release the tension on the belt and turn the pulley by hand and see what the sound and feel is. If it is a bearing you can usually tell this way.

Work through the aftercooler water system and see where the problem is. Did you kink one of the hoses while re-assembling? Do you have a big air bubble in the lower tank?

What is the physical size of the pulley in inches and what is your redline?

Any decent code scanner will tell you your IATs.

but may miss spikes since the refresh rate is not that good on most scanners.

I would also recommend that you replace the Royal Purple with something more appropriate.

Im with sideways on this one, just pull the cap on your charge cooler and make sure there is water flowing and if not then you will need to do some repluming.

~120+ is not unheard of.

when my aftercooler pump broke, I got IATs in the 190's after a hard run

Obviously, there was very little power at those temps.

Stock NA cars can hit 190F no problem on a hot day. You need to actually check the IAT

The noise is slightly more now with the faster spinning. What concerns me, and its so difficult to compare with other Vortech S2K's here in SA as there are just a handful of guys, is that the charger always made a whining noise from the time I bought it. I'm worried that the charger from start had a bearing issue and its now just got worse. Does your guys chargers also have that strange "damaged bearing", whining noise?

I will check the piping for kinks and the pulley. How would I check for air bubbles in the tank?

Brother, the pulley size is 3.8 inches and redline is 9000RPM
