Default maybe it'll be in the faq...

I'm new to the S2000 and honda in general. I dont own one, I've only ridden in one like once. My buddy on the other hand, owns his second one, and rides in it all the time. He would like to slap a turbo on it and get a whole lot of HP out of it.

I gave him the information I knew when it came to turbo charging other cars...rebuild the engine with stronger components and some low compression pistons...some better cams....etc...

Well, as we sit and look at turbo kits, we noticed that there aren't any thus far(in our search) that come with a rebuild kit for the engine. In fact, its been pretty hard to find a premade rebuild kit for the engine in general.

As we read about most of the turbo kits we find, it seems like they are just bolt on, and dont require much modification to the engine. This is where I get a little lost. I seen that his 08 CR has 11:1 or something like that for a compression ratio. How can you push a turbo on that kind of ratio without running super high octane gas? I just see a major pre det with that set up...but maybe something has been figured out that I dont know about.

I'd imagine the engine is pretty well built and already has top notch components in the engine. So I can understand not having to rebuild it from the ground up to make it work. But I would think that lower compresion pistons would be a must and a thicker head gasket just to get the compression down. And I would also imagine some turbo grind cams would be ideal considering the high compression of the car probably requires a very good NA cam stock.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a bone stock 11.1:1 CR F20c.....480whp @ 18psi gt3076R, 370whp on 10psi pumpgas. People make a lot more than that, dont open the motor. Just tune it for 10-11psi on 93 octane and then get some good gas or meth and run 20psi on stock HG and internals. Yep, you would think the engine would detonate like crazy...it doesnt. This engine resists knock very well, quench zones are large on teh stock head.
