Sarcasm?
running rich, or richer will yield cooler EGT temp. if you are running lean your EGT will skyrocket, when it gets too hot then you know its time to shut down before shit starts melting.

An EGT gauge will tell you rich vs lean TO A POINT, but what you really need are wideband A/F AND EGT. On my VW, I use the EGT to determine my timing settings and the wideband for A/F.

Bringing this thread back from the dead...
As I stated in my initial post, I have a boost and oil pressure gauge. I am very interested in moving these gauges from their current location (a-pillar) to the center dash so that they are less noticeable by other people (primarily police). I only want to have the center dash pulled and cut into once, so now is the time to ensure that I have the correct gauges.
Several people have suggested an EGT gauge. If this is a nice-to-have gauge then I am not interested. If this is a "valuable" gauge then by all means I will get it. I recently purchased a Full-Race turbo manifold, and if an EGT gauge is the way to go the timing is now to have the manifold tapped for that gauge's sensor input.
So, I am asking you all again, is there a third gauge that I should add?
