Mini Build thread
Hi guys,
Been lurking on the forums for sometime now mostly just reading and researching things. I finally decided to pick up a SOS stage 1 kit for a price that i couldn't resist.
My setup
sos paxton 1220 aftercooled kit
sos rrfpr
aem 320lph (with rewire)
aem fail safe
ebay/frozen boost heat exchanger
supra pcv valve
autometer fuel pressure guage
Based on what ive been reading i figured upgrading the heat exchanger was a good idea being that i live in south florida and see ambient temps of 97+ on any given day. I also took some advice from other posts and decided to not recirculate the bypass valve in efforts to reduce AIT's. I also i did not route the air pump hose to the aftercooler as it seemed to me that the hose was weak and would warp under boost. Instead i routed it to the smaller opening on the intake elbow (before the blower) using a fitting. (this is how the oem intake is set up i dont forsee a problem). I also capped off the lager opening where the bypass valve goes too. Im venting the top breather hose to atomosphere.
Still waiting heat exhanger should be here thursday.
I had a few questions.
1) What base fuel pressure are you guys seeing with the sos rrfpr.
2) What afrs are u guys seeing with the stock boost fuel management.
Well here are some progress pics hope you enjoy.

Some install pics

showing the rrfpr installed and the supra pcv. (pita! to get it to fit on stock hose, drilled out my stock pcv)

after day one i was dead

What the kit is going in

Sorry for the long post guys. Will update as progress continues.
Aem installed and bung welded on test pipe. Pics up later tonight!

Update:
Car is running great. Its almost strange how mild mannered the car is. It drives stock. The only indication that its supercharged is that the mph fly up there. The fuel pump was not as hard as most people made it out to be. I was ready for war! Happy to report also that the ebay/frozenboost heat exchanger works great. I couldn't get the after cooler to heat soak. It was 87 degrees outside last night. After running the car hard i popped the hood and it was actually cool to the touch. Im also running a Bosch mustang cobra pump. I'm shocked as to how much water that things moves. With the ignition open and the aftercooler cap off it would actually spit water out!
SOS did a great job with this kit! Cant ask for more from a plug and play solution.
I need to upload the finished product but here's what i have now.

Thanks for looking!
EDIT: my grammar sucks

Pictures show the old Johnson pump that comes with the standard kit. That thing was sized when i gave it power. Thank god i wised up and used a relay to power the pump with its own independent fuse if not i would have shorted the ignition fuse. I'm glad i used 10ga primary wire for both the water pump and fuel pump. I know its overkill but i had a spool of the stuff given to me. If i ever need to upgrade either pump i don't have to re run wires. I attached the bosh pump in the same location using the base SOS water pump base. Just used a big hose clamp over everything. I know its not the best solution, but it was late, i was tired, and hungry. Its on there tight its not going anywhere.
Will post more pics later tonight.

Well hello there...

Couldn't be more happy. After a nice night of hard runs i tore my passenger side motor mount
the car is an 03 that just hit 55k.) I think they did their job for 10 years or so. Looking into the megan racing mounts as others on here have had good results.
Going to post up more pics later today.
thanks for looking!
btw: critique and advise welcome

I thought i would update this since its been a while
Since i last updated ive done the following
Changed the clutch to an ACT PP and new OEM Honda disk
AEM fuel rail
ID 1000cc injectors
AEM series 2
sos 3.2" pulley
sos 3bar map
synapse diverter valve
I included some pics on how i got out the clutch with pics to the ever mysterious upper starter bolt. And the way i was able to remove and replace the super charger pulley bolt. Belive it or not i was able to torque to spec rather easy
Im going to have to run the stock Bosch diverter valve along with the synapse unit. On decel im getting flutter with anything about 5.5k ( i was getting flutter on decel with anything over 4.5k on the Bosch unit so it helped but didn't cure it )

looks bad but works great lol

old vs new

shot of the top starter bolt... Taking off the alternator and tensioner this was a very easy headache free way to get the bolt in and out

proof

installing the clutch

clutch going up

Wish i had a lift.
Ill have some more pictures with everything all buttoned up.
