Why not just sump the tank and run an external fuel pump? Maybe I'm overthinking this but putting trap doors in the stock tank to be able to run two pumps seems easily fixable with a sumped tank and one single fuel pump.

If it was just a race car I would sump it or run a fuel cell with a single external Weldon pump, but it's a street and trying to make what I already have work better. Do you think the trap door baffle will not work like I think it will?

Yeah. I see where your coming from. The "trap door" design works for oil pan issues so I don't see it creating more issues for a fuel tank. Many folks daily drive a single Weldon pump even without their voltage regulator deal they offer. For a street car, the idea of a fuel cell isn't too exciting of course but a sumped tank...as long as clearance isn't a problem should cure your original problem as well.

I haven't seen anyone sump the oem tank yet, the best location to sump it would be in the rear of the tank or it would cause the same problems I'm having now. But in the rear of the tank there is no room to sump it with the sub frame and diff location, any thoughts on that? You have me thinking about sumping the tank now, not sure how it would work with it not being in the center of the tank with the indent for the diff being dead center of the rear of the tank. Full-race has a nice oem tank sump kit, for this to work I would need to sump both sides of the tank and Y the lines to feed the pump.

Fuel tank is all finished up going to finish putting the engine bay back together this weekend and install fuel tank next weekend. IT came out great I wish a made a video of how good it works, when I was washing it out with soapy water I tested the trap doors and man does it work.
