Or a non resistor plug. Unless you have wiring issues you do not need a plug with a resistor. I have more electronics on my car than anyone on this forum with the exception MAYBE of tony from T1 who I doubt runs resistor plugs in his car. I also run non resistor plugs in my DD S2000 and have no issues with either car.
I had issues with my radar detector, but other then that I didnt notice any.

Im sorry I dont agree with you. The stock motor is proven as in every other day someone is making 400-500whp on a stock internal engine with a 3mm HG or stock HG. I dont see how one guy like Jeff can make 701whp and then this car blows up @ 10psi. We know the internals can take the abuse, we know the tuner is good....so it was something out of the ordinary. I run 10psi every day and beat on my car....engine seems ok to me. So Im gonna go with this is the exception and not the rule. I know you like to disagree with me, but I have a valid point.
I'm fairly certain is a solid motor, but its far from "proven" -- that's a very powerful word you have to understand. Because 1 or 2 motors make 600+ hp (on RACE gas, completely different then 93) doesn't make a motor strong.

Either way we are arguing to-mae-toe vs. to-mat-toe

I'd take all the time in the world on my own car as well...

Like I said, I'm not on here trolling, and this will be my last response in this thread. Just throwing it out there that I wouldn't be so quick NOT to blame the tuner. If the engine has never been opened up or otherwise molested, it's hard to believe something just 'let go'

I know it can. Here's the deal, I think the motor had to be damaged before we got on the dyno. The fact that it lasted those 4 or 6 pulls at 10lbs was luck I guess.

Miller said the same thing, he has never seen a motor fail the way mine did. He was very safe and said he didn't want to blow anything up, so brand new 9 series plugs were installed and checked frequently.

And the noise was not detonation, it only happened when VTEC engaged no matter where it was set. It honestly sounded like a cracked valve spring sounds, a loud rattle. But like I said we pulled the valve cover and checked the lash on each rocker, and the plugs were pulled before and after each pull. No signs of detonation, although after the last pull miller said the plugs looked like they had aluminum on them. I was using 93 octane gas from the mobil by my house which I get gas at everyday, including today I filled up my turbo civic and beat on it with no problems.

I honestly don't know what to do. I have no money, so there is no way for me to build a motor right now. Only way that will happen is if I let the car sit and save for a couple months, which would really suck. But I also don't want the car to blow another stock motor if I go through the trouble of pulling this one and putting in a new one. ahhhh!
no reason to let the car sit for months without some form of closure. on an unlimited time schedule and with your own pair of hands, yanking the motor is going to cost you nothing. if you're really lucky you may be able to replace enough pieces to make it run again. at the very least, you'll learn a hell of a lot about your car while not endangering your engine (since its already gone!)

if i were you i would teardown the entire engine. start with the head, then drop the pan. you dont even technically need an engine hoist if you dont have free access to one - my bare block was light enough to pick up by myself.

take lots of pictures and report back. i can tell you this -blowing my motor was a horrible experience, but in my opinion it was necessary to learn all that i know now.

DIY Engine Over-haul on that toasted motor. Pull it, inspect it, and post some pics!

I have pulled motors plenty of times, not on an s2k, but I have torn down a couple s2k motors. I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about dumping the $$ into a built motor, then thinking my turbo isn't big enough, so need a bigger turbo, then better fuel system, then twin disk clutch. Then the drivetrain becomes the problem, it's a never ending battle, get my drift? I just wanted to boost the stock setup and be done with it, not have to keep pouring $$ into it which I will never see back. It's fun, but IDK if it's worth it at all...like I said previously, especially with a ton of student loans hanging over my head which I need to start paying back this year.

^^^ Makes sense to me, i recently went through the same thing. I decided not to let my experience ruin my fun and just chalked it up as a isolated incident between me, a inexperienced tuner and tuning device, so in other words a learning experience. I truly believe this motor can handle 10-12psi all day long. I have put allot of miles on that kind of boost pressure. I decided that instead of going with another f20 to go ahead and try a f22, I am very happy i made that choice, not only does it feel more powerful at the same boost, but i think overall its a more sound motor, has upgraded valve keepers, doesn't seem to have nearly the issues with oil usage/burning that allot of f20's have, especially in the older 00-01 years. I would pick up a used lower mile f22 if i were you. I bought one from Davegoat here on s2ki with 51k miles for $2800 complete with accessories. I have put about 15k on it so for at 10 psi SC with stock ecu/injector/meth. Its super strong
