Default movig to the dark side

i hear lots about how the s2k is meant to be n/a but ive only had my car a couple of weeks and its not slow but its still not fast. my main concern because this is my daily driver is reliability. this cuts out turbos because i dont want to have to idle waiting for it to spool up or down. ive heard about a very reliable supercharger that doesnt provide much gains and that sounds like its good for me. also, whats this about cracks in your engine blocks from a s/c. will cams be a good mod for more power but not having to run more boost or are can camshafts also be unsafe. im only going to be running 94octane and using an aem ems. i dont want to spend more than about 6k on the kit because i know there are lots of little extra's like injectors, fuel pump, and boost gauges. thanks in advance for any help.

Ok first off DO NOT DO CAMS. At least don't do them if you want to keep the car more than a month.

Supercharging the s2k is VERY reliable as long as you don't do something dumb... Aka smaller pulley, no tune.

Most kits come with the injectors and fuel pump if its needed. If you already have an Aem EMS then you can buy the tuner kits which probably won't have the injectors or pump, but you'll save a lot of money. If you don't have one, then you'll need a full kit which usually does.

The s2k's engine is extremely tough, there are guy running 500whp + with nothing more than a 3mm head gasket.

I don't know where you got your info from, but most of it's wrong.

Btw, all the supercharger kits add close to or more than 100hp... I wouldn't call the not much gains .

And what is the sillyness about "having to idle waiting for it to spool up or down" on turbos? That made no sense whatsoever.

No offense when I say this, but you have a good deal to learn.

Spouting things like turbo's aren't reliable is foolish and shows your ignorance.

FI is FI regardless of how you go about it, i.e. s/c or turbo.

You need to decide if you want to spend the $$ and be fast, or spend the $$ and be slow.

i think hes cocerned that everyone that doesnt know complains about turbos getting too hot.

while this may have been a problem in the past, today is very different. many turbo kits to choose from, 400whp is EASILY attainable, and you will be very happy.

i think the only person that should say i dont want turbo is the guy that will do HPDE tracks and autox a lot. seems the concensus is that is hard to do with a turbo, not impossible, i said hard

i did a roots blower, i am happy. siadam did a turbo, hes happy. pick what kinda power band u want, what power goal you wanna hit, and make sure your pockets are deep enough to handle the initial install/tune, and the in case shit breaks later.
if u want over 400whp, its a lot easier with turbo. if u want fun around town, and totally different powerband then stock but dont need 400whp, the roots blower is awesome. you gain so much power from just off idle to redline

tranny and diff can be sore spots down the road

EITHER WAY, FI>NA

One word of advice:

Start reading the FI forum here on a daily basis

saying things like waiting for a turbo to spool down??

Start reading and then like everyone is saying pick your power goal and band and go for it.

Best of luck
