Class A work and you seem like a class A guy honest responses without any BS
Bartering on some of the work/parts to build makes the build even more fun and interesting

i tried to sell the car about 4 or 5 years ago before i started this project. at the time it had a b17a1 in it with a turbo setup making around 280whp. i didn't get any interest pricing the car for what i felt the car was worth. i wanted a rwd car, so i parted out the drivetrain and a few parts i had been collecting to build the internals... this gave me a $5k start on the conversion. the first thing i bought was the s2k drivetrain which i paid $3700 for. it came complete with rear end, but was missing the subframe. i sold the rear end for $750 and picked up the s14 for $500, so i came out $250 to the good.

i'm always down for trading parts for fab. it really helps in keeping cost down. it's just not too many people are into it, or don't have something i need or want. things i've bartered for so far:

turbo
twin master cylinder brake setup
powdercoating on both valve covers and the headlight frames.
s2k seats (he doesn't know it yet) lol!
floor details (he hasn't done his end yet, but will soon)
wiring install
arp extended wheel studs
new battery

i've also picked up a few parts off ebay as well, including a rear seat and a few other things that aren't a necessity for the conversion. but i want to be able to take the kids for a ride once it is done - and pick them up from school on occassion.

I just emailed him asking how much picked up. I smell a scam.

What other parts do you need? Maybe I can think of something for you to fab for me!
