Ugh. Both dump tubes snapped at welds up high. So everytime I went into boost I blew sweet mega hot air into the engine compartment. One of which blew onto a engine harness wire and melted the shit outa it. So now I have to fix every god damn wire that looks suspect.

I thank god the car didn't catch on fire from an electrical short.

Fml.

You're right though, good thing she didn't catch on fire...And most importantly, you're ok!

Was it custom or a kit with dumps ? And did they snap all the way off ? If so what happened, like where did they go?

Oof, that sucks. Didn't hear them break off or where they still hanging on? Mine made a hell of a racket when I dropped it on the highway.
That was enough to convince me to pick up a portable extinguisher for the new build.

Were they touching the frame or cross member? When your engine torques, if they are on against something, it will break them.

Damn sorry Anthony! Let LJ know what the potential issue maybe. I am sure he will try and help you out. If it was touching frame he would have know... it would have vibrated like a mofo.

dump tubes are the most common thing to fail, doesnt matter who makes them if the motor has the right vibrations they will break eventually.

I've had some pretty long dump tubes, never had them break off. Look to see what happened, vibration or bad welds and get it fixed and get back on the road. If that's the worst trouble you have, you are doing great.
