Not necessarily, but that's an unusual decision. I understand the intent (trying to minimize lateral movement since you're using vband clamps), but I would be willing to bet that your problem would be eliminated if you delete that piece. Good luck with your setup.

Yeah ain't that bad. Nothing was too badly damaged. Few wires to fox and then new dump tubes and I'm set.

she runs! big thanks to LJ for the really fast turn around.

now if i can only figure out wtf is going on with the turn signals. i posted up in the electrical forum. hazards all work, turn signals dont. all bulbs are good. only thing i havent checked was the turn signal stalk. otherwise, i am at a loss.

You might have blown the indicator relay. I know its under the steering wheel area and can be replaced, its just a little annoying to get at.

the biggest thing that would have pissed me off about the dump tubes breaking would have been trying to clean all the soot. That stuff gets everywhere. haha ask me how I know
