Default need advice...

So I have been turbo for about a year, and a couple of months ago my motor developed a ticking sound that was very similar to a lifter going bad. After I pulled the head I found out I have a fairly bad scuffed cylinder wall on cylinder 1. I have heard that these motors cannot be bored is this true? Assuming that is true I either need to sleeve my block or I need a new one. There is a guy thats local that would sell me a short block that was oil starved for 400( I inspected it and all cylinder walls are fine, I would put my crank and rods in that block). So what would you guys do? Buy the block and run lower compression mahle pistons or sleeve my current block and run lower compression pistions. If you would sleeve the block who would you have do it, what sleeves would you go with, and what pistons would go with. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Weigh out which option is cheaper in the long run, I do not think anyone has cracked an OEM s2000 sleeve yet...

However depends what your power goals are in the future. If you plan on staying under 600whp I would just use the stock block again...Again look at how much everything will cost first.

Aftermarket pistons (non FRM compatible) will probably run $500 dollar mark but the sleeves will be expensive. Or Mahle pistons will run closer to $1000 but the block will cheaper to purchase? So it really depends on your plans...

Also Laskey sells fully built bottom ends for around 3k and would probably accept your as core/exchange... May want to look into that option as well since doing it yourself you will still have to purchase bearings, seals, etc which will add to your cost...
