Default need info on e85

Race gas is pretty expensive out here. More and more gas stations are getting e-85. My jeep can run it, but regular is still cheaper so I haven't used any yet. I understand how everything would need to be setup in order to use e-85 on the S. How would e-85 compare to race gas? Say 110 oct. Would I be able to get close if not the same numbers?

You would get the same numbers it is like cheap race gas. The only thing that is different is that it burns more fuel. E85 is somewhere around 106oct to 108oct. I run this on my S2000 depending on how much power you are looking for will determine your fuel set up. I have taken my car to 500hp on Injector Dynamics 1000cc's and a single walbro but is close to max on this setup. But you will make same numbers..

So e-85 isn't as good as 110 since it's 106-108. It seems similar to running 93 oct with meth. If I was to convert I'd need twin pumps and 8 1000's.

why not run dual pumps rails and injectors instead of doing 1600cc injectors.. theres alot of problems involved with running that big of an injector.. bad spray patterns and all..

its not my DD so im not worried about driving it in traffic and what not, with the E85 it will drive and idle like a car with 1000s in it. takes what 30% more fuel so with the water hose for injectors it will equal it self out, I run a aeromotive A1000 fuel pump with a -10 feed. I have no use for duel pumps or other rails. If i want to make more than 750-800 whp ill add another rail and 4 more injectors.

Thanks GDM, but that doesn't really help or answer any questions. If I did do this I'd use twin pumps and 4 1000's I just do not know if it's worth the money vs race gas. It seems like I'd get more out of race gas as well... No?

if its a dd and you wont 700 hp all the time economicly E85 is the way to go. if you want to run high boost on occasion c16 or q16 is the way to go. people will think a carnival just drove by everytime you pass on E85

It is true that it is not 110oct but 106-108oct there will be no difference a few oct in difference will grant you nothing better. The way you have to look at it is race gas is around $14 per gallon, E85 $2.10 per gallon at least around me. The way i look at it there is no thinking about it E85 is the way to go. Yes it needs more fuel and you may have to change a few things. You can also run a bosch 044 pump and 4 Id injector 1000cc and still will be able to yield 600hp plus. I made 500hp on a LOG and 57MM TURBO small, single pump and still had a little left so there is plenty of power to be made on a better set up. (Bigger turbo, EL manifold and so on). You can go to the track use your E85 and go home and fill the tank for $25-$30 and go again, verses go one time at the track and burn race gas go home and either have to turn your boost down and run pump or fill up with race gas at well over $100. Over all what im saying is unless it will be a full drag car i see no need to run race fuel when E85 is a option.
