Default need to know about turbo!

I am planing on putting a rev-hard turbo kit on my AP1 S2000 this summer and i am wondering what all i need in my car in order for everything to run properly. If anyone can help me out with this i would really appriciate it.

Thanks,

it's depends on the size of turbo, your power goal and how much you have.

if you are planning to run aggressively, you might need to rebuild the block to lower the compression and putting stronger part in the engine. the motor right now is kinda high on compression, dont cheap out on tune with the ancient FMU or piggy back, go straight to stand alone tune and have it dyno tuned.

put some extra cash on the side for little mishaps, stuff like blew turbo seal, new wg, connector and stuff like that. it's almost consider a wear and tear item for boosted car.

invest in a turbo timer, boost, water temp gauge, EGT, and oil pressure gauges

turbo kit
exhaust
engine management
boost controller
install
tuning
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc

Plan on spending no less than $8k after its all said and done. The kit may be 3-4k but youre gonna need many many more items before its all up and running

if you're not going to build your engine, I suggest adding some bigger injectors and an ems to the basic kit

It runs out of the box...question is how well you want it to run and how long you want it to last. Basically...what is your budget?

my budget would be around 5k, but i guess if you need more like 8k then i would rather go all motor.. alot safer and some what cheaper to.

5k including the kit?

8k all motor is safer because essentially you aren't changing anything. No change means no gains and that's what we usually see with N/A build ups with JDM parts on the s2k. 8k on a real N/A build without the bling bling would net something decent but it also starts to through safe out the window.

When you modify an engine for power severely, safety and reliability gets toyed with. Giving up comfort, reliability, and emissions for power. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

true... but i herd that if i just put cams then it will increase my dead zone time by alot and from 1k rpm to 6.25 is kinda slow but then the Vtec kicks in and im gone

if you want to run low boost, I'll break it down for you....7~10psi

basic rev hard kit= $3300
Emanage ultimate=$500
Boomslang harness=$200
Injectors and clip= $400
clutch upgrade= $1000

plus install for everything if you won't be doing the install yourself=$1500

prices may vary depending on where you buy the stuff.

I came up with roughly $6900
