My goal for now is btwn 350-400 WHP on 8PSI, would like closer to 450/500 when I do a 3mm Headgasket down the road. But I dont want to be waiting on the turbo to spool right now either.

I have a few choices, they are all similarly priced, keep in mind HP is rated at the crank, not wheels.

SC5031 - 450 HP

SC3431 - 545 HP

SC6076 - 610 HP

HP5757 - 540 HP

My set up is
rev hard log manifold
rev hard 2.5" DP
63mm Test ipe
63mm J's exhaust single
IC piping is 2.25"

Why not check out the GT3076? It's proven to make the numbers you want. Granted, you said you wanted to stick to journal bearing, which I assume is due to costs.

But if you want reduced lag/better transient response, I'd shoot for ball bearing.

Precision 5857SP Journal bearing. 900.00. 550whp capable. Spoolup as good as if nto better than a GT3076R.

yes its a cost thing right... I was sold a busted turbo with my kit, so I have to be frugal for now

I think the SC3431 is good for what Im shooting for.. just want a few other opinions

For your goal your gonna need a pretty large turbo to get 350hp at 8psi. A goal of 10psi is more like it and then you will need a large turbo like a gt35. You can make your HP goal but your set up is a log. I made 330 with a gt 3076 at 9.5 psi.

Like Andy said, the 5857 is a great idea.

If youre going for budget, the SC5031 or 3431 will do just fine. I would personally spend the extra money and get the 5857 billet, because its definitely worth it.
