Default New to boost and looking for some tips

hi people

I have just purchased a v2 Vortech Supercharger Kit (used) and i'm just looking for all the advice possible to help the whole set-up ordeal to go as easily as possible

So far i've made decisions and still have some to make so any advice would be appreciated

the charger comes with

3 different pulley's (7, 10 and 12 psi)
650cc injectors
modifry to get the temp gauge working
sard fuel pressure regulator

and i plan to go with an aeromotive 340 fuel pump

just wondering should i be looking at anything else to be uprated, as i don't want to be having to do anything later on, would much rather having it all organised from the start, so asking about the map sensor etc? and i believe i'll need a vtec solenoid gasket

any advice appreciated

Noel

Standalone ems and a 3bar map sensor. Can't think of anything else right now. But just be ready to spend more money then you think you need to get everything running the way you want.

Thank you

i meant to mention that, i also have an AEM series1 to tune it with...... any idea on which map sensor would be ideal?

i presume you mean spend more than planned on mapping etc?

iwas thinking of just going straight to using the 12psi pulley also.... would the 650cc injectors suffice?

Yeah the 650cc should work, but they will be pushed. When you get bored of 12psi, expect to upsize the injectors.

i had thought of going to 1000cc from the start......???

what would 12psi and 650cc injectors yield on a good map.....

Also this will be the first Supercharged s200o in Ireland, will the higher octane of 99ron we have here be much beneficial??

Thanks again

As long as the 650cc are supplying enough fuel, a bigger injector wont yield any more power, however in the case of quality injectors that can change a bit. ID1000 are what many of us use as they have well proven themselves over many other brands, one of which is RC. If you think you will up the boost later, ort just want a smoother operating injector with better atomization, then just get the ID1000 now.

Yes of course the higher oct fuel will yield better results, since you have more headroom before detonation can occur. This means more timing and more power.

I was thinking the 12psi pulley would be bordering on the top end of the v2's abilities

You are correct. Past 13 psi pulley you are moving past the blowers best effeciency and past 14 psi you are pushing hot air.

yeah after reading on here i was thinking go for the 12psi from the start, was just wary if the injectors would be enough...

as i won't have interest in going OTT on it....... though i am thinking at 12psi - larger front mount heat exchanger???

Is the V2 not just a novi1000 blower?

If so you will start to overspin it when approaching 14psi as said above pushing it ouside its efficency range and just blowing hot air.

On my setup CTSC novi1000 im making 14.6psi on a 3inch pulley (smallest you can run) and my injectors are at 89% duty cycle and they are 650cc, not ideal but no issues esp since your not at those levels for that long, they will not go static at these levels.

If you fit a big FMIC you may loose some boost, Chris is correct about the octane rating.power I know Ireland doesn't really have much 95+ stuff fuel, you can tune it to whatever you want ignition timing wise.

Be prepared for slippery slope, i said i would stop at 7psi!!!

You will need a 2 bar map sensor at most, most come with scalar ratings and voltage ratings etc, Hondata etc make them which plug right in and are setup along with other parameters in the ECU.
