Question New comptech SC design?

So got the comptech installed and was perfect then a CEL came on...then shes been in the shop the past 2 extra days trying to figure out whats going on. It kept saying air or water pump etc. So the dealer along with comptech dtermined that this new SC came with a larger pump than the older ones for better cooling. The old one design was smaller so it didnt take to much ampage but the new one does and comptech didnt realize this.......they had to do a whole hardwire install with comptech on the phone and I'll find out this evening if it works or not on a cool engine........and still get the CEL.

Anyone else have this happen to them with the SCs that just shipped 1 week ago or so? Basically my S2k is the first car to pretty much get this is what they were telling me and comptech didn;t realize there would be that problem.

Makes sense since I think Comptech taps into the airpump wiring to power the recirc pump for the AC

list of things to check

I am going to assume that the airpump has power as they assumed that was the issue .

Most common issue is people mix up the vacuum lines . This will cause the airpump not to function

Also make sure none of the vacuum lines are pinched .

Check to make sure the two larger lines to the airpump are not kinked . I had a member drive from NY to NH to find this problem . One goes to the intake and one to the EGR valve .

yeh they spent 2 days now extra pretty much looking for mispalced lines and actually called up comptech to verify. Comptech verified this that this is a new design.

No doubt, but it will be worth the wait.

I haven't driven my car (or seen it in one piece) for about three weeks now, and I'm starting to really miss it. Gotta pick that sucker up tomorrow so I can get in some wheel time before the Evolution school and autocross next weekend.

It has to be "air" pump. There is no CEL for "water" pump. I'm going to guess that they buggered up the vacuum line routing or reversed the check valve. I've seen this happen before. I highly doubt it has anything to do with any "upgrades" they made to the Comptech kit.

The intercooler water pump is an independent system that draws off the battery. It won't matter if it's a little bigger. I think they're just using the water pump as an excuse because they can't figure out what they did wrong. Something is not adding up and I think they are not keeping you in the loop.
