Default new motor options

First ever post ! Looking for some advise on where to get a new motor or rebuild mine. What I would like is a bare longblock, assembled and ready to drop in. Basically looking to save money not on being cheap, but by not buying a built block that I will never need. Very timid on buying a mystery motor from ebay

Current Setup:

Fullblown Turbo kit with GT3071r @ 4-500whp max on e85
Stock trans
stock diff
Might swap a diff in in the future but that would be my limit. transmission swaps don't seem feasible as of now.

What happened to my motor? valve piston contact. Not sure what caused it. bent valves, scored cylinder walls, piston damage. So a lot of machine work to get my current motor running again. I have nothing to measure depth of scoring but it catches finger nail a little. Will try to post pics from cell if i can figure it out.

I was in the same boat as you. I found a local JDM engine supplier on Craigslist. They had a warehouse full of engines. I was able to drive there and they performed a compression test in front of me. I also took my borescope to inspect the cylinders. I would try to find a supplier near you.

just buy a used good condition stock f22c long block. There is no point for building a engine for less than 650whp. Nothing will be more reliable than stock. I have had great lock with the s2000 engine on ebay that TAE auto sells.

Tae auto? I will call them. F20 or f22. I don't really care. I guess more displacement is always better. That's a direct swap? All sensors and everything is the same as my f20 assuming it's not a dbw newer motor?

Tae auto. They have lots of listings on ebay. They are salvage yard and they always have tones of engine on eBay from s2000 to evo to almost everything. I bought a f22c from them a few years back to put in my brothers s2000 to replace his 200k miles f20c. And the motor have been running great for the past few years.

I always recommend the f22 as it simply a better engine because it makes more power as well as tq. The 04-05 f22c will drop right in. The 06+ are drive by wire so you will have to use your intake manifold/throttle body/ injectors/ as well as your valve cover from your f20c.

And change the exhaust cam wheel and crank wheel.
