uhh, can we sidebar the smack talk and return to the topic? just a thought. I was trying to learn something and now I just hear this. I somehow have better ways to spend my time, despite it being mildly amusing. Amusing if you enjoyed sniffing paint as a child that is.

"Did you eat paint chips as a kid?"

Tommy "Why?"

About 5 PSI

Nobody knows for sure - assume the 10 PSI kit will have some form of intercooler/aftercooler and upgraded fueling capability

The 10psi kit may have a different boost ramp depending if the design(s) include the variable step up drive system

Had a discussion with one of the Jardine guys working on the JR Rotrex projects. Looks like the Jardine and Doug Thorley companies are in the same building as Jackson Racing - not sure who owns them or what the relationship is with JR.

The 5PSI kit will be available beginning of January. They have a prototype running but would not provide much info about setup, fuel, etc..

The 5PSI kit target price is $3700. The 10PSI kit will be intercooled and will go for $5100 (again - target price).

The rotrex SC does not work like a centrifugal SC. The traction drive is essentially a planetary gear set that allows it to spool the turbo impeller to full boost with as little as 2000 RPM at the drive pully. From there it will hold the boost through the RPM range all the way to redline. Was told that in practice they have been seeing full boost at as low as 1500 RPM. I do not know how it works, only know that is what I was told.

Full boost at 2k rpms - that sounds promising. Provides much better bottom end power than the centrifugals.

And if a kit is going to be available in Jan, won't be long to see how their kits stand up to the claims.

And yea, that Integ sounded bad ass!

Many thanks for checking into this and posting your findings. This kit looks like it may be just what I've been hoping for.
Any idea as to whether the 10 PSI version would require an aftermarket ECU (AEM EMS for example), or would some type of piggyback programmed from the factory be sufficient?
