New turbo on the way
I installed my 2mm headgasket last weekend but ended up baking the bearings in my turbo. Not sure why yet, still looking into it. But anyway I just ordered a new one, a GT3082R. Basicly it's a GT30 turbine with the same compressor wheel as the GT35R. Will update after install and tuning.
Brian, sorry to hear about that. I'm curious as to the cause also, I don't want to bake my turbo. Did you use to run the car for a minute to let it cool down before shutting it off? I can't wait to see your new setup, should be a beast!
After talking to ATP, Persion, and a few others the reason for the failure is...no freaking clue. I checked the feed line and it was pumping no problem, return was clogged, but that was from chunks of bearing, after I cleaned it out it flowed fine. I did notice that Cody didn't use a restrictor on the feed, but that shouldn't cause a bearing failure. So I'm basicly going to put the new one on and pray. Will update when I can.
