NGK BKR7E vs. BKR7E-E

Default NGK BKR7E vs. BKR7E-E

We previously ran BKR7E (#6097) and they work well on our high boost Comptech setup. Went to order some more plugs and mistakenly picked up BKR7E-E (#4776) instead. I've heard that Inline Pro recommends the BKR7E-E plugs, but I'm not finding what the difference between the E and the non-E versions are.

Does anyone know? Is it the pre-gap vs. the non pre-gapped? Or is there a functional difference?

E as in Electrode? Do they look different visually at all? Someone had a NGK spec sheet floating around recently with many of these plugs specs related to the numbers, heat ranges, materials used etc. Be interested to see if these two plugs were listed on that sheet. Might tell you.

S2000Junky, it does seem strange that the BKR7E's are technically stock-ish but that was suggested as the resistor counterpart of the 7173's back in the day. It is interesting that the BKR7E-E's are the plug of choice for at least one of InlinePro's setup. We haven't had any problems with lean state, but our tune is pretty rich and we've lowered compression.

BKR7E-11 (5791) is gapped at .044 (oem)
BKR7E (4644) previously known as 6097 is gapped at .035
BKR7E-E (4776) is gapped at .032

Not sure what the other differences are...

BKR8EIX (2668) is gapped at .032
IFR8H-11 (5068) is gapped at .044

Interesting, yeah i'm using the (2668)BRK8ix something or other, its the platinum/iridium tipped resistor plug that is one step colder. I tried the 7173's and though they were nice and cheap, I had some interference issues with my radar detector it seemed. Other then that they seemed to run issue free, but after reading some problematic stories I decided to switch to the 2668 alternative that most seem to be going to. They seem to last longer then the copper 7173's as well.
