Default Nitrous & clutch

I have been toying with the idea too long, so im diving headfirst into the nitrous realm. Im not gonna buy an ems just want something to run on stock internals to put me near 300 whp. my question is can i run a 100 shot untuned and if so should i go direct port or a wet system.. the only thing i have on my car is a hks 75 mm exhaust and a k&n drop in filter. i know i will have to run maybe 1 or 2 step colder plug. also how would this effect the stock clutch and what power levels are they rated for? If there is anything else that has a tendency to fail under these conditions feel free to let me know.... i will not be racing from a dig so the diff is going to be ok. any information about theses kinds of setups would be helpful..... and yes i have searched.... I know how they work and the differences between them it just seems like every one with a direct port system are running it with a tune/ems... can I do the direct port without a tune?

Looks like you may want to do a little more research before attempting this man. The most you can run on stock timing safely is a 75 shot, anything more than that you will need to get an EMS and tune it or your engine will be done pretty quickly. If you run a 75 shot that will put you around 270whp which isn't to far from your 300whp goal, but if you want to run 100 shot or above, for safety reasons it would be best to go direct port.

As far as the clutch goes, if you do a 75 shot or below, you don't need a tune, and the stock clutch can take it. If you want more than that you will need to invest in an EMS and an upgraded clutch to hold the power.

My opinion since you don't want to get an EMS or tune, do a wet 75 shot(MAXIMUM) and enjoy it. Also with any nitrous set-up, it would be very smart to get a wideband to monitor your AFR's, and get a window switch for safety.

I know most guys here run Zex, but I had a Dynotune nitrous kit on my old 300zx and it was a nice kit. You can get a wet kit for like $400 (If I remember right). There you can also get all of the other smaller things you need also. (window switch, bottle opener, purge system, guages, possibly a wideband, ect..)

Yep a window switch allows you to only spray at certain RPM's. Most guys set theirs (for ap1's) from 5000-8500 rpms. Also these come with WOT switches so you won't be spraying unless it's floored. So you will launch without the nitrous, once you floor it and hit 5k you will start spraying, then it will stop around 8500 so there is no spray during your shifts, then once at 5k again it will do it all over again. Pretty awesome gadget.

You can get everything you need here: http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store...ts/default.asp

The normal wet kits are like $380 plus shipping. If you look on the left side of the screen, go to N20 controllers and there you can find the window switch. Also if you look on the left side of the screen you can see they also have guages, widebands, bottle openers, bottle warmers, ect.. Everything you need to run it safely.

Im running the dynotune 75 shot wet kit on my S. Stock ecu with a walbro intank pump fuel rail and an aem wide band and just a 70mm test pipe. The stock clutch holds really well untill u try to shift really quick then it will slip a little. Now i have an act 6 puck with a CC pressure plate. I wanted more clutch then i would need with this set up. I put down 295whp with 245wtq. The car really hauls ass.
