Counter-argument

Phil, ....on the bottle pressurized i'd agree ...obviously

HOWEVER since its being sprayed "pre-champber" such as intake manifold which isn't pressurized its more that it just is "ingested" through a low pressure situation as the piston travels downwards as regular fuel and air are. Thus the n20 isn't really being FORCED but rather just supplied.

OR if you still consider that forced since it is basically raising the O2 density level (in the same amount of volume) is then oxygenated fuel a form of forced induction??? Or even a cold air intake.... colder is denser.... etc. etc. etc.????

Thoughts, opinions?

It is sprayed in small droplets then continuously vaporizes and expands along the intake track. It continues to expand and vaporize in the combustion chamber during the compression stroke. It goes from very cold to the almost 600 degrees before releasing it's oxygen in the combustion chamber.

What comes out of the jets is far from what is adding power in the combustion chamber. It is ingested while expanding. If it was totally expanded before the combustion chamber there wouldn't be enough to do much.

ahh true story, it is then expanding due to the temp of it rising if nothing else.

ok, i'd have to buy that one. Cold oxygenated fuel i woudln't count simply because it wont stay cold...oxygenated sure but theres no change during the intake process as there is with n20.

Agreed. it is FI. damn

to threadjack.... only because this argument looks to be mostly over.
now someone confirm these are a good fit for me as my wheel knowledge is limited.

I consider it to be in the same category as forced induction, but I don't think that it is. Its a power adder in the same sense, but it goes about it in a different way by oxidizing instead of forcing more air so I think its different.

Nitrous is under high pressure thus it is forced induction.
So is fuel.

Nitrous = more o2 using chemicals
Turbo/SC = more o2 using FORCE

F/I = Forced Induction.
Forced = Turbo/SC

Sure there IS more air in there, but it didn't force itself in.

It's almost like calling race fuel F/I. Don't think so.

Nitrous is in it's own category.
