Default Nitrous Jet Sizes

Hey everyone,
I know this isn't s2000 related but maybe someone can answer this question....

My friend with a Del Sol with a b16 swap recently installed a wet shot nitrous kit. He wants to do a 100 hp shot and called holley to find out the jet sizes that would give him the correct hp. The numbers that they gave him caused some sputtering and he asked me to search the internet to see if I could find any info for him. I haven't been able to find anything. Anyone know what sizes would work or a website with a chart of some sort.

Thanks,
Adam

Adam, is this a direct port four fogger or a single nozzle setup? The sputtering could mean you are running rich which means the fuel jet is a bit high. Usually there is a minimum value of 4 points between the nitrous and fuel jets but it depends on your setup. Let me know a little more about the setup and I could help you from there. Also, did you use a one step colder plug on this car. Considering its 100 shots you might even one to try two. Nitrous does require some level of tuning..

Thanks for the quick response.
It's a single nozzle setup for sure but I'm not positive about the spark plugs. (i think they might be stock) I called him right now and hopefully he'll get back to me soon.

Edit: Just talked to him... He said the plugs are stock but he is going to buy "colder" ones.

i had the same problem, turned out a basic tuneup fixed it. your ignition system may be fine for normal use but is quickly put to the test when a nitrous kit is added.

Adam,

what jet size is he currently using. Also is it a Holley/NOS or NX kit. NX jets usually are larger diameter. Have you pulled the nozzle out of the intake tube and activated the system to verify fuel is being delivered to the nozzle? The breaking up might also be cuaused by a poor spark as stated in the previous post..

Hey guys I just talked to him again.
He said its at 42 nitrous and 26 fuel with Nos/holley jets. We will probably pull the spark plugs today to check and see if there are any problems with them. Thanks

the 42 nitrous seems a bit high...check the jetting chart for the kit. Was it kit 5131 or 5130? if 42 is correct then you need to increase the fuel a bit.
