Default No 93 here so going for E85

So I just moved to Cali from the East coast and was thinking that I can mix 105 and 91 to yield a 93-94 mix but realized last night that it would cost me about $60-70 a tank.... HELL NO lol. So my next thought was using E85 since its available and Ive seen pretty decent numbers from it. Any thoughts or comments on the negatives of E85? I just want to make sure that there arent any LONG TERM issues with using this fuel. Its not daily driven so ill probably use a full tank in 1 week or so. Any input would be appreciated!

pro

power
relatively cheap--i would say about same as 93 after you factor in the mileage decrease on e85

cons
if you road trip your S, your gonna need to either have switchable maps or make sure theres e85 everywhere your goin
mpg decreases
need more injector and more fuel pump then 93 pump same whp vs same whp.

that being said, e85 is bad ass.

I am running ID1000's, single Walbro pump, and stock FPR. I am currently making 427whp and I only expect to make about the same power on E85. I just need a tune for the fuel they have here and making the same if not more. How feasible is it for me to make 450whp on E85 with my fuel setup?

And correct me if im wrong but I should still be able to make the power at same boost level, but just a shit ton more fuel right?

There are not that many E85 stations here in Socal...
You should just re-tune on 91 IMO.

Im not a big fan of a component that could possibly fail. I know it has fail safes but I just like putting fuel in the tank and rollin out. Right now im running 93 and 17 psi to make 427. My fuel setup is ID 1000's, single walbro pump, stock FPR. I just want to make the same power or a little more, if my fuel system permits, on E85.

i donnt know if you will hit 450whp on e85 and a single walbro.

it takes about 20% more fuel to hit same whp numbers compared to 93 pump. you could get a kennebell boost a pump and rewire the walbro. then should be fine.

search to see what others hit on e85 and one walbro.

meth would be the best bet as others pointed out. its not flaky. many on the site run it.
