Default No Injector Pulse?

I did a mountain run about 3wks ago in the rain. 2 of the guys who filled up at the service station went home with water in their tanks.... I too filled up, but the car ran fine that night and the following day so I thought nothing more of it. That was 3wks ago, since then I haven't used it until I tried starting it yesterday but no luck. It has power, it has ignition, but as soon as it gets a smell of fuel, it splutters and shuts down.

My first question is, being FI, will it be ok to pour a litre of methylated spirits into the tank to absorb the water without any repercussions?

My 2nd question is, would it be advisable to swap fuel filters and buy some injector cleaner / octane booster etc?

TIA.

Changing the filter wont' do much unless it's clogged. I'd drain the gas tank and refill if you think it has water in it.

You could try dry gas and go easy on the car until you use up enough fuel for a refill.

You may want to pull the plugs and make sure those aren't the issue.

I wouldn't mix two different additives in the same tank of gas, could do bad thing

There are products out there for removing water in gasoline that don't contain alcohol, but alcohol works too. If you're running an ethanol blend (e-10, e-85, etc) It's not generally recommended to use more alcohol to absorb the water, but I've never seen anything indicating that it would be damaging or that it wouldn't work.

I'd go ahead and try running some denatured alcohol (methylated spirits) and see how it works. It's just ethanol anyway (with other crap mixed in to make it poisonous so we won't drink it) I wouldn't drive it hard, but it should work fine for removing the water.

Is there a tank drain on our car? If so, where is it? When I put my Full Blown dual pump setup on, I need to drain the race fuel out to put e85 in.

just disconnect the line from the fuel rail and let the pump drain the tank. obviously put something like a bucket under the open end of the fuel line to catch the fuel.

once the tank is dry, put a gallon or two of fresh fuel in there and pump that out as well, just to make sure there is no more water in the lines.

I didn't even think about that.

Thanks, think I'll run with that idea.

i don't think the fuel pump stays on once the key is turned, it only primes. but it primes for a good 4-5 seconds or so, so just keep turning the key on and off and letting the pump prime. shouldn't take too long.

ok guys, after 2 tow truck trips, and a visit to the local honda dealership, we've discovered the RC 750CC's have no pulse, hence no fuel and no starting.

I'm going to upload an old tune to the car tomorrow and see where that gets me - hopefully with a car that starts.

Failing that, I guess the injectors could be ****ed???? But doubtful that 4 injectors would all fail simultaneuosly...??

Or the ECU has shit itself? But the fact that the car has power, and ignition suggests otherwise...??

Other than that, I'm open to suggestions?

Anyone able to suggest anything other than the following

1. a fuse is blown maybe?
2. resistor box?
3. faulty injector(s) - however I'd imagine 3 would still start a car to atleast idle.
4. my tune is rooted - now after 4 months of driving? Unlikely, but I'm hoping to load an old tune into the car to see where that will get me.
5. My ECU is faulty - again unlikely, because the car has power and ignition....
6. An injector has come lose from its clip - unlikely again as you'd still think 3 would be enough to atleast start a car.
