S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

No one experiment with propane injection yet?

You might get 0.1 psig of pressure in the gas tank - tops. It is vented to atmosphere after all (even though the evap solenoid and charcoal filter are in the vent path). But it is an atmospheric vessel (design engineering wise). Your comparison that the stock gas tank is just as risky as a propane tank is the height of ignorance.

You can make all the flippant comparisons you want regarding its relative safety. IMO LPG is potentially more dangerous than having a even a nitrous oxide tank in your car, and much more risky than the stock gas tank. Fact is - safety is mostly quantified by the design and execution of the system.

Nitrous tanks are (normally) safely integrated into the car. Thick walled pressure vesssel (tank), solid and sturdy tank mounting brackets, HS forged steel manifold with rupture discs to prevent overpressure, etc. all show proof of safe design practice. And Nitrous is just an oxidizer, not a fuel.

OTOH hanging a BBQ pit propane tank from a bent clothes hanger in the trunk (or worse yet in the cab) is relatively safer than driving around with a live hand grenade hanging by its pin from the rear view mirror. But it's not very safe in absolute terms. Using a pressurized two-phase fuel tank puts the onus on you to safely design and integrate it properly into the vehicle. It can be done in a way that minimizes the risks involved. Check out Millen's old 300zx tt hill climb racer that ran on LPG.

I understand the performance benefits of LPG as fuel, but safety is paramount.
It is obvious that you have no idea of the magnitude of consequences of rapidly expanding gases (explosion), especially if the gas is flammable. I have seen the results of propane, natural gas, and several other fuel type explosions in gas plants, boiler rooms, etc. It ain't pretty.
If this were set up properly and vented to atmosphere the chance for a BLEVE type incident would be minimal. Barring a car accident that would most likely kill you from head trauma or massive body damage the tank will not explode.

it works. this was all the rage years ago on the turbo buick, dsm, syty, etc forums

too many people were scared of "propane" for it to ever take off

Oh, the system is sound.

I mean someone needs to put together a system, and give me a list of parts used, and some sort of how to.

I don't have the time right now to guinea pig things.

there are still some ipo (import power online) kits floating around for sale

i doubt there are many pro-pain kits for sale, havent run across any

the biggest hurdle is putting together a controller box, i'm sure that whats his name that makes all the little electronic doodads for s2ki members could come up with something... oh, and the huge solenoid required.

I'll hopefully get the pieces together over this winter. I need to research a little more to see what I can rig up. I'd be putting this together for a CTSC system. I think it would be beneficial, but who knows.

Called my buddy who just sold his diesel performance shop. He's getting me a wholesale quote on a non vehicle specific kit, and getting back to me.

So far my winter list is getting longer:

Valves, springs, retainers, headgasket, 3.2" or 3.0" pulley (undecided) and now propane!

Any thoughts on hitting 400hp with ~10.5-11psi through a CTSC?
