Today we changed the positive battery cable to a thicker gauge cable. Then I checked the voltage which the aem was reading at around 15 and 12+ when cranking the car.

The Stat sync is still not coming on when cranking the car. Checked everything above a couple of times but no luck.

I think I will be sending in the Aem for service to see if the ignition driver is bad.

^^ How do I check the firing order and what should the order be?

I still didn't get spark with the aem but it sparked fine with the stock ecu.

First you have to ascertain if you have a spark or not.

Remove a plugpack and spark plug. Put the spark plug in the plug pack (use electrical tape to hold it there) and crank the engine with the threads of the plug against some bare metal of the car. If you see a spark, good so far.

Firing order is 1342.

^^Yeah that's exactly what I did when I checked for spark. Like I said earlier it sparks with the stock ecu but not with the aem.

I am going to send the unit to Aem to get it checked and fixed.

Thanks for all help guys.

You won't get spark until the "Stat sync" comes on.
I had this problem before and battery voltage looked decent too. However I connected another battery in parallel and the system worked.

....may be give it a try

I'm doubting this is a ems problem but more like u didn't sync the igniton timing and tps voltage until u do that stat sync won't say ON until u sync timing

i bet it is in the setup/tune, unless he had some other electrical issues we dont know of.

I just remebered had a car did same thing, ended up being, update AEM software on laptop, then have to update firmware on ecu, reload tune, becareful the basetune is not for the 1012, hit the key and it fired right over.

The EMS does not need the tps or the ignition to be sync'ed in order to get stat sync. Stat sync shows that the ems is reconizing the cam and crank signals where the Timing calibration simply sets the timing offset so as to calibrate the ecu timing maps to the vehicle phisical timing (kind of like messing with a distributor to advance and retard timing) u dont realy chage the timing via maping changes but rather through minipulating the timing offset.
