Default Noob with kits/companies

Hey, I've been reading this forum a lot lately as I'm planning on buying my first car this year and I'm pretty much decided on the S2k as there is so much headroom for improving its performance.

I've been looking at a lot of parts, and dont' know what is best, from which company, for a decent price. I would really appreciate it i you guys could tell me what components you would use to take the car from stock to at least 400HP with room for improvement later on. I'm looking for a decent price range, and great reliability.

Thanks.

10,000$ as I want it to be a reliable mod. I want to use this as an everyday car.

Edit: I Probably won't buy it all in one go, so if there's a way to get something decent for less and keep upgrading, as time goes on, I'd be very happy. IE. Get a really good intercooler, Blowoff valve, etc, and a not-so-good turbo, and then upgrade as time goes by.

Either Vortech SC with 12 or 15lb pulley is yum, a more user friend powerband or an InlinePRO kit with a GT30 or 35r. More fun but not exactly what I call user friendly unless you have the correct supporting mods and at the same time still not as user friendly. With the 10k you said you want to spend that is 5-6k right there for either of those kits. Add header(SC), exhaust, and a test pipe and that can literally be close to 1-3k more. That is around 7-9k already.
If you want to go all out do some internals head/block work. That can run from 2-6k more. Depends on what you want to do. You can basically spend 12-17k on the engine mods. I'd do it, I'm up to 7k in three months with a momentary pause for a couple months. I did however get rims and suspension too so...

How do you figure either of those 2 statements?

It does not cost 12K to get to 400 rwhp. Call InlinePRO and they will answer all of your questions. No other company offers customer service like they do and frankly, thats worth more than anything else.

it depends on what type of driving you do. if you like to redline every shift, the S/C would be your best bet( CT,VT chargers build boost as you climb the RPM reaching max boost at redline). if you like to stay in the midrange often , the turbo would be it( depending on what type of turbo, max boost starts around 3.5k~4k and tapers off towards redline). also, 10k should be enough either way you go.

I would go with a Vortech for a S/C setup, and inline for a T/C setup.

hope this helps..good luck

ps. you must change out your clutch.

Well I have a SC and it's power band is more linear and my boy carlo has a inlinePRO kit, mine is more user friendly. I love my power band, it's one of the best I've experienced.

I didn't say it costs 12k to get 400hp, I basically said it can cost.

Most turbos can push out 40+psi till redline, there is no way the boost tapers off at redline unless your engine is jesus and can take that much pressure
