Default Novi 1200 - Max Power?

Hi,

I've decided to keep my S2000 and go for some more power.

I'm currently making 420whp on my Novi 1000 with a 2.8" pulley and 98 octane fuel (New Zealand). It's also an intercooled setup.

Nate has responded from CT Engineering and will do the 1200 and bracket for ~$1850 which is cheaper than SOS. First question is do I need anything else other than the pulley? Is everything else compatible from my N1000 kit?

What is the 3" pulley likely to yield? It's saying 16psi with the 3.2 pulley on SOS? I'm running a JDM spec motor which is also higher compression. Will I need any additional parts? I have a Walbro 255 and ID1000 for fuelling.

Thanks all.

The biggest issue you will probably face is belt slip with a pulley that small. Luckily, ASP can make you a larger crank pulley and you don't have to touch your sc pulley(You may in fact need a larger sc pulley). The larger crank will net more psi, which is more power, and greatly reduce risk of belt slip. 16psi on a Novi1200 can range from 440-480whp pending fuel.

Hmm I have a bit of slip on my current 2.8" but when I had my 3" It was fine with my gatorback belt.

Is 16psi the maximum for this blower? I thought it was more for some reason.

i hit 14 at 8500 rpm with an intecooler pulleys are 6.75 crank asap and a 4'' blower pulley from sos i am seeing some belt slip after repeated pulls but creating a softer rev limit seems to have helped i know it holds 12.5 all day long its above that things start t get inconsistent luckily 12psi is 8k rpm so i usually don't go past that timing retard hits at 8400 ignition 8500 fuel 8600 now she lays over instead of the rut, rut, rut, which is bad on everything i believe 20-22psi is the max without changing bearings but don't quote me on that

Understand, the the 1200 is very different from the 1000. With the added power of the 1200, you will get belt slip with a 3" pulley. Search it if you don't believe me

I believe you! Maybe I should get that crank pulley then, don't particularly fancy taking off that crank bolt though!

Can you point me to the modified crank pulley?

you only unbolt the outer ring and bolt on a large diameter one

Ahh yeah of course! Sweet. ASP have the diagrams for a SOS one which I assume is the same as the comptech? They are asking which size I want.

Will 6.5" be OK or is that too big? How would I work out the approximate boost levels now?

ASP already has diagrams and everything, all you need to do is figure out what size you want. For me since I'm keeping the 3.4 pulley and leaving my redline at 8.5k, I opted for the 6" crank pulley, which should net me 18.26 psi(roughly)

Thanks, is the SOS one the same bolt pattern as the comptech though? They are asking as they don't know and neither do I. That's some good boost with that setup and size!!
