That always seems to happen to me too Nightcrawler, I buy something then a better deal comes along, I hope the conversion won't differ too much from the old setup and hopefully it provides more HP/TQ below VTEC.
i mean it was $700 for the kit to convert the old mounting system (keeps cracking)to the new one...same blower lol

I was told 9 months ago by him that it would be ready in 3 months...and I heard that if they go with the 1220 they have to have it re-CARB certified. I wouldn't hold your breath - I did for 6 months then died.

Let's just say I have decent sources since I live so close...in fact I drove by CT three times this week but didn't even bother to drop in.

hopefully it wont cost an arm and a LEG to upgrade..they will probably want our novi 1000 in trade.
I doubt that second part seriously.

Living in Cali sucks emissions wise. We all want huge HP but have to stay fearful for the bluebird... Staying CARB legal sucks... I've got friends that have had to go to the ref even though they had CARB stickers... Cops said "tell that to the judge/ref"

Until it comes out I wouldn't hold my breath. The longer they wait the more buyers they lose. I even wonder if it is built and is in "real life" testing mode.

I wonder if Vortech is gonna beat them to the punch

100% with everything you've just said.

Trying to keep things CARB-legal just plain sucks, and it totally limits what we can do with our rides. Sometimes, I think back and wonder if I should have just bit the bullet and gotten the Inline Pro turbo...but then I'm knocked back to my senses when I start thinking about all the hassle of having non-CARB-legal stuff on my ride.

And yes, some cops still give us $hit even when we provide them the CARB EO number. Although, I think this may have to do more with the circumstances of them pulling us over (speeding, wreckless driving, etc.)

Hell, some cops don't even know what "CARB" means...I know this, cuz I've asked them whenever they pull me over. Tax money at work, right there

Anyways, CT really needs to step it up with this upgrade. I'd expect my NOVI would need a rebuild sooner or later, and I'd rather just upgrade to this newer one as long as the price is right, and I don't lose the CARB-legal status.

I've spoke with Nate several times over the past few years, he an upstanding guy. They have the parts at the shop and are involved in testing. One thing he said was the new unit may be self lubricating.

I don't know about testing for CARB approved, but I think the product will be as reliable as the Novi 1000.

Let's just wait and see before we crucify anybody.

I've been talking to Nate about it since the end of last summer and it's always just about ready. He started saying in Jan that it was just about done...but it's still not out. Draw your own conclusions.

And let's just say that SOHCmyDOHC has shopped in their warehouse a *few* times...

You guy's from California are a tough crowd to please. But me being 3,000 miles away, you would have a better view of what's going on. I still think we will be satisfied when it is released.

We aren't that hard to please. Promises is all we are getting. The kit was supposed to be done by this summer at the latest. It's like the whole KW thing before they came out. Grim even offered to supply his car as the test mule. The only thing he wanted was to guarantee that it would be CARB legal. Tired of the smog nazi's raping our bank accounts.

Granted they could be in the "testing" phase but at this point we will just wait. To CT's defense I do remember they were working on the NSX kit so yeah I'm sure they want that done first. We would really like to get the CTSC especially since they are local. Any probs we can just drop in.

Personally, if Vortech comes out w/ their kit first it may be the downfall for CT. When people want something they will most likely get the first kit out there.

I know Nate is a great guy. I've known him since he worked at the local speed shop back in the day. He or should I say CTE has to step up cuz there are a lot more players in the SC game. I'd seriously hate to see this company go away.
