Are you going back stock for emissions purposes? Were you daily driving or road racing or draging? If you babied it with a little fun. You should be ok. If you beat the heck out of it road racing. Drag. Etc. Get the valve adj. Checked. Doesn't hurt.

It depends on if it was ever beaten. Anything could have happened in the first 5k and I would assume it would only get worse if you have a problem. However, if your asking, it would probably mean you're willing to check em. And if you're doubting anything, you might as well even if only for the peace of mind. My .02

valve adj. is so easy why wouldnt you do it? and if its good it will only take a fraction of the time to do the whole adjustment.
