Default OBD1 Injector Clips

What is the best way to install new RC injectors from an electrical perspective? I've considered cutting the current OBD2 clips and soldering the new ones in place with some shrinkwrap as well as replacing the entire harness with a moded version that has some sort of a quick disconnect. This would allow the stock injectors and ECU to be easily reinstalled for smog inspections. What are your thoughts? Please post any pics if you have them.

I cut into my harness and soldered the new clips inplace, leaving the old ones there as well. This way I can swap the injectors and ECU with little effort. I also wired my wideband to a connector that I connect to the stock primary O2 sensor. This way I don't have to do anything other then swap the ECU with my EMS and put the stock O2 sensor back.

How do you hide the original clips or do you still have the plastic cover on your car?

For the wideband, do you have the 1052U or a stand alone unit?

I never thought about using a quick disconnect. That is a great idea. I'll probably set something like that up tomorrow if I have time.

Stratocaster- Did you just T into your old + and - wires for each of the oem clips and solder the new lines in? Do you cover the old clips with anything?

Yes, that is exactly what we did.

Right now, no. They are not covered. I guess you could say they are covered with the hood . They have been installed for about 2 weeks now, and only on the road for one of them. I travel for a living and have not had time to really deal with it yet, but I do plan on having them covered withsomething water proof.

I also like the quick disconnect idea. I have a spare OEM harness, so I will see what I can work up as well. That is a great idea!

Go to any autoparts store.

They will sell you two wire "GM male tower/female socket weather pack connectors". They are universal, but labelled this way.

They also have a nice rubber seal so anti-moisture and anti-corrosion.

Is the OEM harness a complete Engine harness, or the injector harness is a seperate piece ?
Mine is a RHD and it looks like its a complete engine harness

Trip

It is a complete harness. It connects all sensors, injectors, Vtec and spark coils. Straight from the ECU to the sensor, injectors, etc.. It costs about 450 new.
