odd ems not reading AF
this may sound wierd but my lap top is reading a totally diff number than my gauge is reading. ive connected all the wires to the correct spots. when I remove the ground the number drops. anyone have any ideas?
Is the EMS calibrated for the wideband you have hooked up?? I had to calibrate mine. I have an autometer wideband and it wasn't an option so I had to play around with the calibration until they matched up. Its a certain voltage output/input.
make sure you calibrated the sensor according to the directions, with the AEM sensor you just have to set the voltage gain until it matches the number they tell you to aim for. if this is correct then try this...
also the AEM software is a little retarded. in every single case I've installed the software, even though the software shows the right units selected under the units menu, they displayed wrong. for the load units and AF ratio units I've always had to the menu, select something else, then select what you want to see (most likely PSI and Gasoline AFR) and then it'll display correctly. I've only had to do this after the initial software install or after an update to the software. once that's set it's been fine.
