I need something harder than that! Seriously though, can I just undo the S/C belt, install my factory fpr and drive as though I'm N/A again? Will the air be able to flow through the S/C alright with it not moving?

Yep, it will be fine. Might not be the most free flowing intake but it will be fine.

I wish I was closer I'd gladly lend a hand. Don't have a glut of frequent flyer points lying around do you?

I wish I was closer too.

Seriously, there is no one that does FI S2000's in this area. The closest tuner that I'd feel comfortable with is about 5 hours away. I figure since the car was going to be stored this winter anyway, I will accumulate an ultimate emanage, 7 or 9psi pulley and some injectors and then send it to be done right.

When I read the 'What's the cheapest good turbo kit' I remember the secret passphrase from Top Secret. "Do you know any good white basketball players?". "There are no good white basketball players."
I love that movie!!!

Nick, what happend? I tried calling you and left a message on your cell. Reach out to me when you get a moment. I'm sorry for the frustation and disappointments, unfortunately as we push these cars they push back. It takes a lot of support and yes, some of it from manufacturers and such is yet to be achieved. We'll all get there though....

Yes, the car will drive fine without the belt spinning the blower. You don't need to do anything with the fuel pressure reg. It only ramps up when it sees boost.
I drove my car for 3 days with the belt off when I was installing the s/c in stages.

Hey, guys... I have felt your pain . I even feel as though I'm asking for it again. Here's why:

Before my S, I had a 2002 Corvette Z06 with simple bolt-ons. I LOVED the car. It was my daily driver. Drove it everywhere. Then Ihooked up with some new friends. One of them gave me a ride in his Vortec S/C Z06. HOLY $H!t!!! I NEEDED ONE. On my ride in his car we raced a CBR 600 and WAXED him. I thought " I wanna do that"!

I get an ATI procharger kit installed by one of "the top" corvette guys on the west coast. 3 months later, a valves busts and ruins a piston. So I have to at least replace the piston, what do I decide to do... The biggest blower you can fit under the hood, 382 stroker, custom fuel system, tub the car, etc. The car after 6 onths of building it makes 842 at the wheels with 690 ft lbs. Guess what?... I was plagued with issues. I fixed all the issues that were apparent and sold the car. My wife was NOT happy with the whole experience and the money we laid down for the project (>50k).

So I move the the S after selling the vette. I believe the S to be a better all around car than the Z. It is certainly more fun to drive. Why am I asking for it?

I am buying a turbo kit

What is the reason: I just can't help it

I am telling myself that 300 to the wheels will be fun, "and plenty"

I will tell you that I will never undertake a huge project like the one I tried with my Z. Most of these kits are foolproof if you get it tuned right and don't turn the boost up. The reality is that when you get beat by another car, you just have to let it go.

I am happy that my wife is understanding of this illness I have. She did say, however, this is the last time!

p.s. I learned with 2 corvette shops and lots of money that there are many shops that claim to be good, but really aren't. Why pay someone to mess up your car when you can mess it up yourself for free?

my $.02

1st. The tranny blows up.
2nd. The rear end blows up.
3rd. The axels break.
Whats next?

Wow i am glad we can all come together on this.. I will be replacing my head gasket in two weeks when it arrives i will keep you all updated though. i hope to keep this thread going though. Thanks for the support guys. As to making the 700 hp i will have no problem i am running a smaller hotside to the turbo and smaller injectors for street use. The car is fully built and has been sponsored by Bulletproof automotive group five motorsports and synapse. Thanks to them the will to build is still there. Fortunately for us if we do get beat we up the boost and come back for more right. Hahahahahaha I wish it was that simple. You have to love the feel of boost though. I know when the turbo spooled i couldnt shift fast enough. I love it and hate it at the same time.

Nick
