I feel you guys.
My car broke in this order.
1st. The tranny blows up.
2nd. The rear end blows up.
3rd. The axels break.
Whats next?
Not to sound to harsh but I am FI. Well almost. The car has a few hours of street tuning and I can't wait to get it back. If all I break is the 1,2, and 3 I am gonna be kinda happy. Going FI with 400 or so to the wheels I expect crap to break. Good luck to you all and where did making more power meant everything would run like stock anyway? Whoever was thinking that must not of modified something before. Everycar I modify breaks something. Usually the 1,2, or 3 is one of the first things to go. After that it just ends up being the motor.

Not me. I am running a stock drive train with the exception of the clutch. I don't intend to break anything.

My car is used now just like before. Daily driver and the occasional track day. I don't expect any catastrophic failures.

Today was the best day I've had since going FI. What did I do? I disconnected the damn blower belt and removed my ESM box!

This is great reading for soemone about to go Vortech

I do believe it can be done simply, installing the kit as intended, without breaking stuff. Clutch / tyre wear I can tolerate

The problem appears to be when people extend the boundaries, raise the boost, bigger injectors, different engine management etc...

Nick, good to hear from you....as I was at the shop last night trying to get the car started it became very frustrating and you're right with the assessment of the lack of support from the manufacturers. I hope it will be worth it one day.

Man this is the perfect thread to make. Here is my story.

Got my SC put on in Febuary, 5psi. 2 weeks later I had gotten the 7psi pulley from tech2 and the front mount. the car made 315 and I ran a 12.7. I was happy with the car but again, it became slow after a few months. I ran PERFECT on 7psi and I had no problems. I wanted more, but no one had done anything to the AP2's at that point and no one knew the pulley sizes or any specs at all. I got the EMS, got 750 injectors, got a pulley which I thought would run 10-12 psi. I put it on and the problems just started. I found myself spending hours and hours everyday working on the car. I went through like 8 belts because they kept ripping, so I sanded down the pulley and tried to allign it better, they pulley and key thing bent from being uneven, I got a new one. The car would sputter above 7k, thought it was slipping, figured out it was the map sensor, installed the new one. WOW!! 13psi at 8400. The car hauled ass, I had finally finished the project, it was great. Idled like stock but above 6k it was a rocket. I beat a gsxr600 on the highway, i was happy as hell.

Well later that night after racing a few people, it started smoking, overheated and everything was over. Now I have to do a $4,000 rebuild and face maybe even more problems. I have a big turbo sitting at my house that I can't wait to put on and start all over.

This is worst then drugs.

I have yet to have a major problem with my car...but the turbo has only ben on for a week so we shall see. I never had a problem with the supercharger other than wanting more power...I mean small things of course happend like the vacuum line popped off the bov nipple, shredded a few belts from being stupid, and a couple other nit noid things. Most of them where my fault.
