Default Oil cooling

Guys,

I currently have my engine torn apart and am having Laskey sleeve te shortblock. I have qn 06 AP2 with 14k miles on it. It has been supercharged for 4k and just blew up. Still trying to figure out what happened so it doesn't go again. Since it's down, I figured I would add some things to help insure I don't have major issues in the future. Because I track the car in southern california, I am a bit concerned with oil heat. The fi system I bought uses a laminova oil cooler which seems to be ok. That said, I did have one track weekend where I burned the oil at Cal Speedway. Recently I found out that PWR makes an aluminum radiator with a built in oil cooler. My thought was to run both systems together. Will I have oil pressure problems? Is it advisable to run just the PWR and remove the laminova. Or should I skip it all and leave what I have? Everything is still in great shape so I'd only be replacing if it added performance and durability.

Thanks

That doesn't answer my question at all. The problem was detonation and we're trying to determine if it was fuel, tuning or bad injectors. My question was, and still is, if ibrunthe laminova and pwr together, am I creating a problem or proactively eliminating one? I was hoping to learn from others rather tan make a costly mistake.

I'd rather not throw out any names at this time. There are a lot of people working hard to resolve this and I will recap once I know what exactly happened. BTW...it was a flash and not a custom tune (they are very reputable and it's unlikely the tune is to blame). Once the motor is back, I will have it custom tuned by Shawn Church. I want to improve the oil cooling and am getting mixed messages. One camp says use both the Laminova and PWR, one camp says just use the PWR because running both may negatively affect oil pressure. I asked on this forum because the car is supercharged and I was hoping to get feedback from others that have been down this path. I was also hoping to hear from those that haven't done anything special to cool the oil ( do they track the car and if so, where? Is it hot, any issues)

when my S was supercharged, i had an Greddy Oil cooler and it was Perfect and more then enough for what i was running. (15lbs on Comptech aftercooled s/c) and thats all the cooling i had. even had stock fans and radiator.

your "reputable" tuner show know better. Especially since you have an 06 drive-by wire s2000! There's only a few tuners out there that can do that right.

One other consideration for an integrated Oil Cooler and Radiator is C&R racing. They do make integrated systems but you may have to call them.
