Oil smells of fuel?
Can't say I've ever sniffed my oil before but the other day while dipping the stick, I didn't have no rag so wiped the dipstick between my fingers, you know what its like, blokes always like to have a little sniff of their fingers when goo's on them.
Anyway oil had a whiff of fuel, is that normal?

There was a fuel smell in my oil the other day, so I immediately drained the motor. Over a quart of gas came out along with the oil because one of my RC 750cc saturated injectors stuck open. If I were you, I'd drain the oil and take a look at it.

Usually this happens when you are running overly rich and fuel gets past the rings and down into your oil pan. Be careful running to rich could potentially wash out the oil from your cylinder walls and cause you more problems than you would like.

I must admit it is running rich at idle, bounces around 12.5-13.5, all other times its spot on.
Wouldn't the fuel and oil mix together so you wouldn't be able to notice it?

The fuel and oil will mix up while it's running, but if you let the car sit, the gas will rise to the top of the oil and come out after all of the oil is drained. 12.5-13.5 is probably not rich enough to allow raw gas to seep past your rings. You could always do a compression test to check how well your rings seal. If compression's down a bit, it's possible that a small amount of fuel could get by.
If there's a lot of gas in your oil pan (like there was in mine), you can always listen to your injectors click open and closed with a long screwdriver. If one of them isn't clicking, then that one's probably the culprit.

I'll give the screwdriver method ago and see if its an injector.
Compression is ok, 1 cylinder was down 7psi from the others, all the rest were around 232.
Thanks.
