Default Oil in turbo inlet and running lean

So I'm sitting in traffic today and I hear some popping and spitting coming out the exhaust. I immediately pull over and my A/F gauge was bouncing between 16.5-18 which is way to lean. Luckily I had my laptop with me so I hook it up and added some fuel to get it back around 15 but it only seemed to make the popping and spitting out the exhaust worse.

I babied the car home only 5 miles away and popped the hood to find oil inside the turbo inlet and one of the vband clamps on my downpipe was broken creating an exhaust leak. Now I'm thinking the exhaust leak was causing the popping and spitting because the leak was before the 02 sensor. Anything else you guys think could cause this?

Now for the oil leaking from the turbo(Precision 6262 JB w/ 5k miles on it) inlet I'm thinking I might need a restrictor for the oil line. I'm calling Precision tomorrow to see about getting my turbo seals replaced under warranty hopefully. Any advice on dealing with them? I already took the turbo off and got pictures of everything.

Thanks for any advice!

-Jonathan

def needs a restrictor.

as for the lean issue, ehhhh, you might need to tweak an offset table for fuel.

Sounds like you nailed it on the head. the exhaust leak will cause your concerns and explains why you saw a lean condition. As far as the leaking turbo goes, no restrictor could cause the seals to leak.

That's what I'm using with my jb 6262 (T4) No issues thus far.

You guys think I should send the turbo to get repaired or see if the restrictor fixes the problem?

The exhaust leak will cause a very lean reading. If closed loop feedback was tuurned on it could have been adding fuel een causing an overly rich condition.
