Default Overheating issue...

Replaced HG w/ OEM, headstuds - Check
Replaced thermostat - Check
Replaced rad cap - Check

Still getting hot (4-5 bars) after 15 min casual drive in 40 F. So I pull over and the fans aren't on, then I lift the hood and they turn on...any ideas on what's going on here ? Blown fuse on fans, fan relay, etc ? How can I check / fix ?

Thanks for any advice !

Bleed the system again, make sure ALL the air out. 90% of the time this is the issue. Hook up a laptop to your EMS and see exactly what your temps are. If the fans are turning on at all, it's not a fuse or relay issue.

Did you use new coolants and what kind of coolants? Mayb the engine was not hot enough for the fans to turn on yet. Check your coolant temp sensor for loose connections or debris or corrosion.

everyone has their one views on fixes. personally i have switched a few things and have had GREAT success. last summer i had a lot of overheating issues with my ap1 showing 5-6 bars. i am pretty sure my stock gauge wasnt reading right.

-aftermarket gauge to show exactly what temp
-distilled water/water wetter/30oz of antifreeze
-oem hood vents
-aluminum rad with 12 in slimfans

i just got off the dyno last weekend and the car never went above 190f.

gl with your prob.

Thanks - I'm pretty sure it's reading right cause when I stop the car and look under hood....coolant/water coming out of overflow
Aftermarket guage - Was considering this but haven't got to it yet....will likely force me to as Honda "bars" aren't so accurate
Coolant mix - Thanks for recommendation
OEM hood vents - Was trying to keep OEM hood....vents mean I have to cut hood right ?
Al rad/new fan - Will def consider if that's what it takes but was hoping to avoid

=> Is it common to have higher temp/overheating issues w/ 500+ HP on OEM rad/fan ?
=> If I invest...will my issue go away or am I continuing down the rabbit hole ....$$$$... ????

i got to the point where i didnt trust the bars like you said. that is why i went with a gauge. i went with the hood vents because my car is more for show and driven on nice days only. if your battery and fuse box are tucked, hood vents would be an option. i dont think there are too many people running more than 500 who do not have an aluminum rad. if you can afford the mods to reach that much power then you have enough for the rad! it sounds like you need to bleed it properly as well as find a better combo for fluid imo.

This is what you need to do, the air in the system can be a pita to get out even when you think its all gone do it again.
