I actually removed the square ring with the 4 10mm bolts that has the reverse lock. It's pretty annoying having to lift the reverse thing becuase it sits under the shift booth with the oem shift boot.

I was wondering about that, I planned on trying to pull the reverse thing through the shift boot, not sure if it will fit though

I took the stitch out of the inside of the shift boot, cut off some excess and gave it more slack to pull up on. I just rolled the edge of the boot back over and now I can lift up on the reverse lock out no problem.
