Default People who DD there boost S2K's...

If you DD your S

- How long have you been doing so?
- How many miles?
- Any issues?
- What setup do you have?
- PSI running?
- Any major change in maintenance?
- Anything else worth noting?

2.5 yrs
10k+ miles
blown hg issues with greddy emanage among other small issues
IP with some custom piping
12-18psi
constantly checking pipes vacuum lines and oil lines. Oil change interval shortened but the biggest maintenance change is swapping plugs every 5000 or so.
Its been down for upgrades since late october but it will be worth it on the 24th when I go and get her retuned for some more ponies.

50k+ miles turboed
40k+ miles on Ultimate racing manifold
(turbo to manifold bolts kept coming undone, finally remedied by using tack weld to hold them on)
10K miles on Full-Race V.2 manifold
(wastegate bolt came undone and whole wastegate fell off) vacuum lines melted (remedied with heat reflective tape)
380whp 280ft/lbs with stock exhaust (15psi)
415whp 305 ft/lbs with 3inch exhaust (19psi) (made 40-50 more horsepower midrange but power dropped off uptop)
475whp 365ft/lbs with Full-Race manifold (only thing changed) (18psi dropping to 16 at redline)
change oil every 3k miles, change plugs when they start missing (plugs burn out alot less frequently with FR manifold) Headgasket starts to leak every 20-25k miles, am on 3rd headgasket right now.
- I make more power on my low boost of 11psi (425whp), than i did on my high boost setting with old UR manifold.

So if I stayed around 320-350 HP would I still have the same HG issues?

you could safely run the stock hg at that power level and not have any issues.

The problem with a turbo is that you will always want more power regardless of what you say now.

I once though oh 350 to the wheels will be plenty.
HA.

1 year
6+k miles
downpipe bolts backed out and wastegate internal bolts back out.
Fixed the wastegate problem with just re tightening, still trying to figure out the DP bolts.
I am running ILP kit
8psi I am on stock HG and running 320rwhp
As far as extra maintenance, nothing so far just change oil and go Once i get more miles on her I will have a better Idea. Oh ya 1500 of those miles came on a weekend trip to denver and back which included alot of agressive driving with the s2k group

no problems, just basic maintence, fluids and plugs. Pop the hood every week to make sure everything is good to go.
