I plan on just running a 3-4 inch transition and going 4 inch on the rest of the exhaust

Joey there is always reduced bak pressure to be had, same reason open downpipe makes more power than a 3 inch, 4 inch will edge out a 3

the hotside is a 4" opening. I was hoping to not have to narrow it or go out the hood, fender, etc. Dont wanna mess up my new wide fenders getting put on.

Never mind. Got the answer. Well i guess ill have to notch out the framing around there, go from 4" to 3" back to 4", or figure something else out.
