[quote name='wadzii' timestamp='1352981317' post='22152503']the only issues with wiseco shelf pistons are people pushing the shelf pins too far. Wiseco specs the shelf pistons with light weight pins only good for around 550hp.If you get a cp hot it'll break, if you get a wiseco hot.. it just gets hot and nothing happens.
I am the perfect example of this, ran shelf wisecos at 800 and snapped a wrist pin, gotta go for the beefier wrist pin next time, but i cant agree on the "it gets hot and nothing happens", anything that gets hot enough will fail eventually
So you staying wiseco pistons? What wrist pin are you going with..?

yea i spoke with a really cool at wiseco about what happened and hes gonna build me some custom pistons with some crazy wrist pins, and getting this crazy coating on them, i forget what the coating was called, I may go with their k1 rods too but now sure about that yet

Also keep in mind that wiseco and CP use a shorter piston than factory. Stock pistons come out of the hole 0.040. Those do not. If you have them make pistons make sure you take that into consideration when calculating compression height. With a stock size dome lowering the piston 0.040 will lower compression about 2.5-3 points.

At that rate an 11:1 piston will require about a 12ish-cc dome... I'm not a fan of a domed piston under boost. A flat piston works much better.

I'd make it stock compression height (1.181) and flat.. on a 2 liter that will get you right at 10:1.. on a 2.2 a little under 11:1.

Also remember the stock chamber is only 86m. In diameter. Any oversize piston needs a chamfer on it to keep from hitting the head

Sounds good. I think I'll probably go with a custom set of Wiseco Pistons(10.0:1), Brian Crower Rods, and Darton Sleeves. Any suggestions on Bearings?? (OEM, ACL, ETC...)

im a fan of the oem bearings with clearances based on whatever hp you are going for. but that is up to the engine builder in my opinion.

Use what ever bearing your engine builder likes to use. My engine was built with acl race bearings and my shop warranties the motor not to fail (within limits) so I told them to build the motor with parts so I can make over 900whp.
