Default Possible MAP sensor problem?

Guys I have been having a few issues with my car lately and it seems to be getting worse (happening more frequently).

Info on car: Greddy kit, stock PSI, Berk HFC, 70 single exhaust, BKR8EIX plugs pre gapped at .030.

I was having issues before where when I would hit VTEC the car would fall on its face complutely (felt like tons of timing was being taken out) and it would go pig rich (10.0 on my wideband) I did many things like reset the ECU, map whack etc and it would work for sometimes a day, sometimes a week but would come back.

Now I am having the same problem but now it also happens whenever the car sees boost (and this is still intermittent) Car will hit one pound of boost and the car will lag as if all sorts of timing is being taken out. Also I will notcie if I try and give it more gas and say up the boost to four or five PSI it will surge, buck and feel like crap and AFR's will be in the low tens or ten and super rich, where as when it is running correct it is around 10.8...

I'm thinking this may be a possible MAP sensor problem? I've been considering getting the Greddy pressure sensor and trying that out.

Any thoughts on what this could be?

Kev, like i've said before, I cannot believe you are driving the car so much and for so long without a tune.

You are very lucky that you have not had any serious motor issues yet.

You ahve already spent so much money on the car, what is a few hundred more to make it run smoothly and make more power?

Go see Jon.

And yes, I want to know if I should be running an aftermarket map sensor as well.

The only reason I haven't gone and got the tune yet is that I was in the process of working a few bugs out on the car Before I went and spent the 400 dollars on the tune.
I just don't see the point in going for a tune and spending the 400 only to go and spend another 400 for a re tune after I fix things...

I have a wideband on my car so I don't see a problem running the stock map for now since I am monitoring AFR's (which are rich)

I just got to figure out this problem before I go and get my tune.. This crap going on with my car isnt normal even with the base map..

Sometimes it does bottom out at ten but only in vtec sometimes (so I dont vtec the car) I know the VTEC is just the tune..

The BIG problem I have been having is that the car bucks and bogs when it sees boost (half of the time) and even one pound of boost will cause this... Then the car will drive fine for a while and then bam the problem is back again. It seems as if it pulls massive timing when it sees ANY positive pressure and the AFR's go real rich in the process. When this occurs I have to drive and keep the car out of positive boost.

Hmm. May need a new map sensor, or the emu is messing up. My money is on the map.

Yeah im thinking its the map.

Its fine one second and boosts fine, then goes pig rich and yanks timing another..
One minute partial throttle AFR's are 12's then the next they are 10.0 pegged (at one psi even) and bogging at any boost falling on its face...
