This is from Chris at Bullhead Gears that I went back and checked. It does come with the reduction gear for $5750.

Hi Chadd,

A synchro engagement PPG gear set for your car will run $5750, this includes
the reduction gear. This set is good for 900+ whp so you will be covered
when you get to 800. We do have a dog box for $7950 for the s2000 but that
might be overkill. Both gear sets are helical cut and very, very strong. Let
me know if you have any other questions at all.

Thanks,
Chris

Bullhead Gears still deals with PPG gearsets. Where did you hear that they dont anymore?

Also, per Chris from Bullhead Gears, I could get the PPG dog set for $7950 with the reduction gear.

I was talking to them when the dollar was weak you must of been talking to them while the dollar was a little stronger.

Im just going to wait around for a better option to come around ( if that ever happens) or if I become ready for something sooner I will get another ppg dog or the one s2king has on the site. If that thing gets proven

I spoke with Fernando @ CFT he said their gearset was $5095 (for a straight cut synchro set) I believe, seems to be a bit lower than the prices you guys are tossing around.

Ya I saw them for sale on the site for that price , but they really are not proven like the ppg. If he would do a good deal on a group buy I bet he could sell a few sets and get feedback be it good he makes alot more sales or be it bad he makes them better. Would be nice either way

I spoke to Jon at TRE (He is a BIG time trans builder) and he said to stay away from those gears. He said they arent as good as PPG. He said PPG is about as good as you can get.

I believe the stock "drop" gears are a weak link. At least that is what I was told. Which is why I replaced those first.

Once you took at the stock ones, in comparison to the PPG ones, you'll laugh.

I wouldn't upgrade the trans and not upgrade that.
