Default Precision 6062 turbo

Does anyone have any information about this turbo or even the 5757. I have heard that it is supposed to spool faster then a 35r but make the same power if not more. I was set on ordering the 6262 but am a bit worried about lag. I do not want to be fully spooled later then 5k rpm. I know Peter at ISP who I will be buying my turbo from is making 34psi by 5500rpm. Thing is I am on a log manifold with no head work compared to him. I do not want the lag because I would like to autox the car and it is a street car after all. A little about the car: SS log manifold, 1000cc, AEM Meth, and no more then 25psi. I would like to be close to 550whp on high boost.

i know its not fair since im running on e85 but even on lower rpms im making more power than 50 trim turbo

If you're worried about lag, why not just get a GT3076R? It's been proven to make over 500whp.

Price being the major factor. I am not too worried about lag, just do not want it spooling later then 5k. I know Peter is fully spooled by 5500 but he also has a built head and a better flowing manifold. I came across a few people talking about the 6062 being inbetween 30r and 35r last night so it caught my attention.

Peter will the 6062 be the same physical size as the 6262? Have you heard anything about the new turbo?

I recommended this turbo to so many people awhile back who wanted a 6262 because most people wont be making 600+whp.

Basically, the 6062 spools a little quicker and makes more power than a 35R. The 6057 will spool quicker but be more limited. If you are going for ~550whp, the 5857 or 5557 are awesome choices. They both spool quicker than a 30R and make more power. I saw the independent testing of these turbos before they came out and they are awesome little turbos.

ScorpionT I was hopeing you would chime in. I see you post all over the internet. What do you think the spool difference would be between the 5857 and the 6262. I would love to make more then 550whp but I am on a log manifold and wont turn the boost past 25psi on the stock motor. Where will the 5857 max out? Thanks again.

Call IP they are a Precision dealer, I choose their smaller 5965 to maintian a good spool and hopefully allow me to make good power on the top end still.

so all precision turbos are better than garrett's then? I would bet my 30R will outspool some of those precision turbos.....

Either way good info on the spool times. I would LOVE to see some apples to apples dyno comparisons of a garrett vs precision.

I believe all the center sections are from Garret and the housings are made by them. Personally I really like the TIAL and Garret, I was not real impressed with the Precision but looks don't really mean much.

I have personally done back to back testing with the 35R with a TiAL housing and a 6262 with their v-band flange. The 35R outperforms in every way. Same car same A/R same day, temp, everything about 4 hours between the two tests. The 35R curve is as good or better (mostly better) from off idle to red-line. I can post the differences next time I'm at the shop and think about it.

Not to mention the 35R has the option of a 1.02 (or something like that) housing and the 6262 doesn't
