I have personally done back to back testing with the 35R with a TiAL housing and a 6262 with their v-band flange. The 35R outperforms in every way. Same car same A/R same day, temp, everything about 4 hours between the two tests. The 35R curve is as good or better (mostly better) from off idle to red-line. I can post the differences next time I'm at the shop and think about it.

Not to mention the 35R has the option of a 1.02 (or something like that) housing and the 6262 doesn't
thank you so much for that. Scorpion_T made it sound like all precisons spool faster and make more power all the time. Thats just not possible honestly.

ScorpionT I was hopeing you would chime in. I see you post all over the internet. What do you think the spool difference would be between the 5857 and the 6262. I would love to make more then 550whp but I am on a log manifold and wont turn the boost past 25psi on the stock motor. Where will the 5857 max out? Thanks again.
The spool difference I would estimate about 3-500rpm, hard to say for sure because there are some variables. On an Evo the 5857 made about 570whp @ 27psi, so you can imagine what it will do on an S2k.

Andy, not every Precision will outspool every Garrett, of course its not possible. The 6262 and 35R are generally very close in spool, but when you compare top end power, there is NO similarity. Evos have made near 800whp with the 6262, and whats the highest for a 35R? Something around 650whp.

The 5557 will spool quicker than a 30R and make a bit more power, the 5857 will spool a little later than the 5557 and make anywhere from 50-100whp on a Honda, depending on the boost.

As far as spooling quicker and making more power, it IS possible, its called technology. Many people are switching from 67mm/P trim Garretts to the 6265 and 6765 billet turbos from Precision. Why? They spool quicker and make more power! Not many people here use Forced Performance HTA turbos, but their 3586 spools quicker and makes more power than a 35R and its all about the compressor.

I would love to have a FP35r. I remember seeing a dyno on an evo back to back 6265 vs the FP35r. Both made about the same power just the FP turbo spooled a lot faster. Too expensive for me though. The thing that is odd about that dyno comparison is I would have thought the 6265 would have made a little more top end power, considering the larger turbine wheel. Ended up taking Peters 6262 off of his 700+whp monster. Can not wait to see your new numbers Peter! Should be nasty.

I gotcha, and Im sure you know your stuff. I want trying to discredit you in any way. I was always under the impression that precision used garrett chra's and made their own housings. I guess precision has started making their own wheels too? Or are their housings just that much better? Ill still rock garrett since they have always been great but info is always good.

Haha no worries. Precision actually used to use Garrett CHRAs but they have their own now(they could be made by Garrett, but I dont think so). They do use Garrett cartridges for some turbos, but mostly hybrids. Yeah, Precision designs a lot of their own wheels. Some they use Garrett copies though. The new HP series are completely Precision designed, and the billet stuff has awesome aero. Nothing too special about the housings, but they have some V band inlets now which is pretty cool. Im still a big Garrett fan too, their stuff is reliable as hell.

As far as the 6265 vs FP35R comparison, the 6265 has a P trim size turbine wheel(different design) so it will spool slower than the FP turbo. The FP35R seem to spool quicker than the 6262 though, but the price difference is pretty big because they use original Garrett turbos.
