Default Problem with High Boost

The other day, I felt that the car was running slower than usual. I have the AEM TRU BOOST Controller/Gauge so I checked the what the highest boost the car hit. It was like 14-15 psi which is weird because I should have hit 18.x psi.

Today, on the way home, I wanted to double check it. I checked where the boost is set at. It was set at the same boost level so I gun it and then checked the Highest boost I hit and it was only 15psi.

What can cause this? did the turbo somehow go bad? can it be the solenoid? anyone experienced something like this before?

My guess would be a vacuum leak.

If the turbo was going bad, should make some funky noises or something atleast?

Typically, when a turbo starts to go you will start to blow blue smoke due to the blow by. If it's not showing signs of wear then it's likely a vacuum. Check your couplers to see that they're well connected.

pressure test your intercooler pipes, get some spray mist and pump up the lines to see if your leaking!

The only time I ever experienced this was when I had my couplers get burnt through by the turbo manifold and then when I had an exhaust leak I couldn't build boost past 15 psi.

I have the same issue. Then again, I also know I have an exhaust leak. Once that is fixed, I expect to be back to normal.

i hope that it'll fix it but at the same time i doubt it.

This morning, I wanted to see what will happen if i lower the boost to something that is lower than 15psi so see if the solenoid is OK. It turns out that it is OK because I only hit like 10-11 psi when i lowered it. I believe it is one of 3 things.

1) The line from the wastegate to the solenoid id broken because of the heat
2) Intercooler leaking
3) BOV

I hope it is the first one and I can get it fixed quick
