Default Problems with Walbro 400 and e85

Has anyone been successful running this pump with e85 for a long time? I have been running my car with one for about a year now and just yesterday it crapped out on me while driving. It sounded funny when I came out of the gym and started my car and on the way home it started to run lean, sputter and eventualy died. Luckily I had a spare FB 340 to swap in and get the car home. Luckily I have a Full Blown dual hanger setup waiting to go into the car, but I am worried those 340 pumps will meet a similar fate after running for a while with e85.

As far as I know when I bought my complete fuel system from fullblown I bought it specifically for running E85. They said it would work perfectly for it. I thought the 400 was supposed to work well with E85 also.

Apparently it does not work with e85 long term. Here is another failure http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-gen...nfo-story.html

They must have released the e85 version for a reason

Do they offer a kit for the 400 or did you modify it?

All you need to do is hack the bottom of the hanger off. Very simple.

Nice to know. Is it the same flow rate as the WB 400?

Yes I know they have an E85 version. Unfortunately that was not available when I bought this . I now have my dual pump setup installed so we shall see how these 340 FB pumps hold up.
