There are a lot of risks associated with the line backing up...consensus now is to tap the girdle

Nice welds LJ! The setup is really looking sweet.

BTW, you should be able to get the drain into the girdle from what I can see but its hard to tell for sure. The girdle is supposed to be the best place to put it so you have adequate draining without the chance of oil backing up or blocking the drain.

Thanks bro, I could return it in the girdle but it would be pretty much a horizontal flow.

well i hope you don't have problems with the seals, because that turbo is pretty expensive. the rest of the build looks awesome! good job can't wait to see the numbers!

Oh, I see. Well, if the drain in the girdle is even only 1/2" below the lowest point of the turbo chra, it will drain with no problem. But if its at the exact same level, the oil wont drain well and will be stagnant. I worked in aerospace for 8 years and have experience with fluid flow. Just trying to help you out man.
